Access statement
Introduction
Lanhill Stables is a single storey converted stable block that is nearly 200 years old. It was converted to retain its character. There are however a few steps to the bedrooms and guest lounge, We enjoy welcoming guests and are happy to help them in every way to make their stay enjoyable.
Pre-Arrival
- We take bookings by email, telephone or post.
- We can be reached by car just off the A420, 3 miles from the centre of Chippenham and the main London to Bristol train Line. Taxis are available at the station but the bus service is infrequent
- There are several taxi services available in the area that we keep a list.
- We are reached via a 200-yard gravel drive from the main road that we share with our neighbour. It has a10 mph speed limit to protect the drive and the tranquility.
- Guest parking is signed as you reach the stables and there is ample space for cars but we regret no commercial vehicles or trailers.
- We cannot accept pets apart from assistance dogs.
- The access path is light but does have two steps and a step at the front door. There is however an alternative route via a part gravel path to the front door. The front of the house is light at night
Main Entrance
- The main entrance is up a step and once inside is fully tiled
- We offer a key to the guests for their rooms and a front door key.
- The public areas are linked with a smoke alarm system.
- The signal for mobile phones is reasonable from most parts of the house.
Public Areas - Hall, Corridors etc
- The corridor to the guest lounge has a tiled floor and contains two steps
- The entrance to the lower bedroom has two further steps
- The top bedroom is close to the entrance on the same level.
- The bedrooms are carpeted and the ensuite facilities are fully tiled
Lounge
- There is small carpeted lounge for the sole use of guests
Breakfast Room
- We have a large breakfast room adjacent to the kitchen where food is served. at a large dining room table.
- There is a buffet with a selection of cereals etc and cooked breakfast is served at the table.
- Should you have any specific dietary needs please let us know prior to your arrival
- The house is Non Smoking.
Gardens
- We are keen Gardeners and the gardens as are our 10 acres are for your enjoyment. The main garden is either paved or gravel as is the drive .The rest of the land is paddock.
- There are garden tables and chairs
Bedrooms
- The bedrooms are not really suitable for wheelchair users as the doors to the ensuites are not wide enough. All rooms have lighting controlled from the door and localised lights at bedside or bed head controlled locally.
- There are kettles in each room for tea etc, but no fridges.
- A guest folder containinng emergency numbers, a breakfast menu and information about you stay is placed in each room. This is available in large print on request.
- Heating is by underfloor central heating and each bedroom is controlled by individual room stats
Shower-room
- Each bedroom has an ensuite shower room. The shower has a three-inch step.
- The floor is tiled, as are the walls to top of door height.
- The towel rail is thermostatically controlled
- The room is heated by under floor central heating controlled by a roomstat in the bedroom.
Additional Information
- We are open all year but do take the occasional week off
- menus can be printed in large print if required.
- Please advise of us of any special dietary needs you may have.
