Lanhill and Us
Lanhill Stables was built in 1834 as a cart shed as part of the Grittleton Estate. The building was converted later to stables and was used as a stud. Jill and Peter Bishop (that’s us) converted the buildings to their present form in 2003.
You will approach the house along a wide gravel drive that we share with our neighbours, but it is not suitable for commercial vehicles, vans or trailers.
The gardens are there for you to relax and enjoy the views of the countryside which stretch as far as Cherhill (the site of one of the 8 remaining Wiltshire white horses built in 1780).
Our ensuite bedrooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. They have tea and coffee making facilities, wireless Internet connection, radio, TV and either DVD or CD player. The en-suites have a large walk in power shower and Pure Lakes natural toiletries.
After a leisurely breakfast to suit your appetite and taste - and before setting out to explore for the day - why not sit in the landscaped garden and chill out for a while?
We look forward to welcoming you.
