Local Attractions
We are just 20 minutes from the Park and Ride into the wonderful World Heritage Cultural City of Bath with its Ancient Roman Baths, Stunning Georgian Architecture, Museum of Costume, Bath Aqua glass and many other places to see.
It could be worth your while to visit the New Thermae Spa, but you’ll need to book before you come to stay.
If history is your penchant then Avebury Stone Circle or Silbury Hill or even a walk up Cherhill to view the White Horse are all within an easy drive.
For those with a more mechanical bent there is Bristol with the History of Brunel so evident - the SS Great Britain the Suspension Bridge and Temple Meads station.
Nearer to home we have the picturesque village of Castle Combe, The National Trust Village of Lacock with its Abbey, Fox Talbot Photographic museum and the site of several films including Harry Potter and Pride and Prejudice.
The Theatre Royal in Bath and the Hippodrome and the famous Old Vic in Bristol have a varied and good programme of entertainment.
Of course, we have many NGS gardens open in the year as well as the famous Abbey Gardens in Malmesbury, that are superb.
We have larger houses open to the public in Corsham Court, Bowood, Dyrham, Longleat and many more, all in easy reach.
Of course no visit would be complete without a trip through the Cotswolds; we are one mile from its boundary with its picturesque villages and scenery and many easy walks. Why not walk the Arboretum at Westonbirt only 15 minutes away or the canal walk west of the ancient wool town of Bradford on Avon, towards the aqueducts at Avoncliffe or on to Monkton Combe.
Shopping in the brand new Cabot Circus in Bristol or Cribbs Causeway shopping centre just North of Bristol is only half an hour away. The Macarthur Glen outlet centre in Swindon and of course Bath are within easy reach.
For those of you who lean to sporting events, we have Castle Combe Motor Racing circuit within 3 miles. Bath Racecourse is only 20 minutes away, Cheltenham Racecourse is only an hour away, and of course in late spring we have the Badminton Horse Trials just 20 minutes distant as well as Gatcombe trials in the summer.
For the Golfing addicts we have 10 courses within 30 minutes and for Rugby enthusiasts, premiership club Bath is within a half hour drive.
